These begin 10 weeks ahead of the ship's official introduction at Port Canaveral in July.
Hundreds of technicians onboard
More than 900 experts specialized in naval architecture, engineering, navigation and design are aboard to push Utopia of the Seas to its limits and make sure it’s ready for smooth sailing. The teams are carrying out hundreds of tests and inspections, from how the ship moves through the open water and the operation of its navigation systems to engine performance, back-of-house technical checks and more.
More than 1,000 miles
Utopia of the Seas is expected to cover more than 1,000 miles during the five-day trial. After that, it returns to the Saint-Nazaire yard for final outfitting.
Royal Caribbean International's sixth Oasis-class ship will be the first to debut on short cruises, with three-night weekend and four-night weekday getaways to Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau starting July 19.
A seventh Oasis newbuild is on order at Chantiers de l'Atlantique for 2028 delivery.
